Welcome To BAREFOOT ARTWORKS Black and White, Color and Hand Tinted Photography
Barefoot Artworks was first originated in the small Chesapeake Bay town of Rock Hall, Maryland. How it's name was discovered kind of reminds you of a Hemmingway story. Sitting in a bar in Panama City Beach, Florida, I was talking with Bud, a Native American friend of mine who makes and sells his native jewelry. I told him that I was trying to think of a unique new name for my business, which at that time, was Eastern Artworks. He asked me where I had lived before coming to Panama City Beach and I told him that I lived in the little town of Rock Hall. He told me to think back on my first impressions of that town. It wasn't hard at all. I told him that everywhere I traveled in that little town, I saw people with no shoes. Almost everyone was barefooted. Bud blurted out "BAREFOOT", I shouted "ARTWORKS" and at the tap of two glasses, Barefoot Artworks was born. In October of 2002, St. Michaels, Maryland became the new home of Barefoot Artworks. It is another small historic town on the Chesapeake. This has made it possible for Barefoot Artworks to be available to the whole Chesapeake Bay area of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. You will be hearing new names and meeting new people as we travel up and down the Chesapeake within the next year. Living here, I have realized that this is a photogrpher's heaven. Through my color, black and white and hand tinted photography, I am able to capture and share with you, moments in time of the Chesapeake Bay area of the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
